This trip involved a fun flight on one of the bombardiers that Alaska uses. It was a Friday evening, so I got to see football stadium lit up with presumably Friday Night Lights games going on. Neat stuff.

The focus of the trip was to attend an NFL game. It was my first one in many, many years, and the Seahawks were playing the Patriots. Yup. Tom Brady was down there doing his thing. This game also resulted in the famous “You mad, bro?” incident, as hardcore fans would tell you that the Patriots lost. Another trivia fact is that the game included Aaron Hernandez, who was playing this game after the Boston murders but before the Odin Lloyd murders. Yeah, pretty crazy stuff.

But the game was fun. The excitement around the field on game day is palpable. Just so much energy from the fans hanging out. I got beer and we grabbed some Seattle Dogs, which are hot dogs with cream cheese and jalapeño peppers. Highly recommend if in the area.

For a fun photographic outing we headed to West Seattle, where we visited the coastline and I got some nice shots of the Seattle skyline with my DSLR. That’s something I have to do again, though I will need a new camera for that as I sold the DSLR.

On Saturday, we saw “Wicked.” Since my trip was last-minute, I didn’t have tickets with the group but I went along and just visited the box office and grabbed a ticket in the balcony. It was a fine show. The singing is far too “nasally” for my taste, but they did a great job nevertheless.
