It wasn’t long after my last trip, but I returned north on December 29 to hang out for NYE again.
One cool event was seeing a homemade recreation of Diagon Alley in Seattle. A man turned his entire driveway into the exhibit and did a nice job with it. I guess he attracted thousands of people to his home and got lots of news coverage. I think his wife was ready for it all to come down though. The family dog seemed indifferent.
Another high school friend, Jeff, was in town as well and we hung out with him for a spell. He was able to bring along his new wife and child too. Great people.
I tried a kickboxing place for the first time. It was great exercise. I do miss those kinds of workouts. It had been about 15 years since the studio closed down in Livermore. Quite a long time ago now.
