The biggest problem with this trip would be Alaska Airlines, as they were charging around $600 each way for a simple 90-minute flight to Palm Springs, which was ridiculous. However, United Airlines had a much cheaper option, so I bought tickets through them, killing my chance to earn any miles, but it was just too much money to lose.
I drove out to San Francisco and parked at Park SFO for this adventure. I headed up to the top of the parking garage, where there were plenty of spaces, and then took the shuttle over to SFO. Despite being in economy, it was a decent flight and I was treated to very nice sunset as I headed down the coast. The weather would soon become very warm.
The airport in Palm Springs was small, though very nice, and a lot of it was outdoors since I guess the weather is never that inclement there. After taking in the pleasant warm evening, I summoned an Uber to get over to the Airbnb that we were all meeting at.
