So this was an insane trip. Just a day in Maui. The flights weren’t longer than my stay, but perhaps it was close.
I flew out on a Sunday. For parking, I headed to the ParkSFO, where I could take a shuttle to SFO. I was in premium so no first class, but it was still a decent seat and there wasn’t anyone else in the row so I could stretch my legs out over the other seats. Nowadays, this isn’t always possible since some armrests are solid and don’t fold up.
We flew west of course so I got som shots of SF that I usually never get. For drinks, I got a few of the red wines. Not great, but drinkable. Hours later, we reached the coast of Maui. Very blue and green. We didn’t land the first time. I guess there was something not quite right, so we headed around again, which meant flying all the way to the south of Maui. It seemed far away, but I guess on a flight, it’s not really that far. I also got to see some of the less green parts of Maui, where it’s quite dry and brown. The entire island isn’t tropical. Just odd to see.
After checking into my hotel (Which was the Maui Beach Hotel and cost $300 for the night!) there wasn’t much to do, so I went for a walk. I headed out to buy snacks and booze. With provisions acquired, I returned to the hotel and mainly just rested until Monday.
