For this trip, I would not be needing to catch a flight, which was a relief, considering all of the canceled flights from the ice storm the year before. Plus we already had our ice storm one week prior, so maybe nature got all that out of its system. But since I was living in Seattle, I could just join my friends and we could carpool over to Idaho and that's what we did.

Nevertheless, it was still a long drive to get there. We drove for several hours on a Wednesday afternoon, but stopped by a place called Frank's Diner in Spokane, Washington, which had a design of an old train car and was really fascinating. Definitely recommend checking that out. I had a beer and quite enjoyed it, although I could tell something was wrong. A cold was coming on. And there was nothing I could do about it.

When we reached the Airbnb, from the outside, it looked like a simple two-story house, but on the inside, it appeared much bigger. (It kind of reminded me of a certain television series.) I think part of that was it had a long depth, but also a huge downstairs basement area. The home still had a Christmas tree up, so it was kind of festive, and contained a nice living room, and dining room area for everyone to hang out and either read books, or play on phones and just chill out and relax—one thing we enjoy doing on holidays such as these. One notable thing was they had some really odd artwork on the walls and I had to wonder if maybe a friend and painted them and the owners didn't want to take it down in order to avoid offending the person. Hard to say. It was just so out of place. We got settled in and unpacked, and just hung out and waited for the others to arrive which they did in time.
