This was for another gig down in California. It would be a short trip where I would perform the first day, stay at a hotel, and then come home the next morning. I drove to SeaTac and parked there and then caught a flight to Sacramento Airport. It was the first time I've been in the airport and it was fun to see a new airport. It's fairly small but still very nice and very clean. I got picked up and driven to the dinner show, which was in Davis at an assisted living center which turned out to be very, very expensive for people that stayed there. It was nice that they were hiring us to perform a dinner show.

Our green room was a bit of an issue because they wanted us back in some library down at the end of the building, which wasn't really great for doing a show, but we had preferred to be in the adjacent room to the performance area (Well, others preferred; I was indifferent.) However, the kitchen crew and chef wanted to use that area too, which made sense. We asked if we could just share the space since it was pretty large and the chef agreed to that. Turns out later that the chef wasn't happy about that situation at all and simply didn't have the guts to actually say something, because we could have relocated if it had been that important. People need to speak and answer honestly when asked a question. Complaining later is just cowardly.

The show was “Sea of Love” and it's one I've done for many years--though not recently. I brought my Gaston wig, which turned out to be probably a little too big, but still fun to wear as it was still in decent condition. I also got bought and brought some white slacks since it was a sea cruise type show. Each scene went well, though quite a few hiccups in the final one. As well, despite the chef’s sourness, the food they prepared was outstanding. Definitely some of the best catering I’d experienced.

The audience seemed to really enjoy the show, and there was talk afterwards about future shows, but apparently the chef situation and a few small other issues prevented that from happening. Pity because it seems like the seniors who live there do enjoy getting a variety of entertainment to help pass the time.

After the show, we said goodbye and I got a ride over to a hotel (Four Points Sheraton for $140) to spend the night. It wasn't very expensive and the room was nice and clean; however, there was also a bit of noise until about 1 AM. My wake up time was 4 AM.
