I was happy to be returning to Califonia. We had a dinner show down near Santa Rosa, so I flew down Saturday morning and returned Sunday morning.

Due to the short duration of the flight, I decided to park at SeaTac and pay the high fees for airport parking. I found that the best location to park at the airport parking garage is on the roof because you can get pretty close to the elevators, and there are usually a fair amount of spots open. Most people don't realize this or take advantage of it, or maybe they just don't wanna leave their cars in the sun, but for me it's totally worth it.

I was upgraded to first class, so I had a nice seat. It was in the first row, which meant I did have to store my bag above me, but there was plenty of legroom, of course. It was a fast flight to Santa Rosa--probably one of the shortest routes I have taken, outside of Boise, and this would be a new airport for me since I had never flown into Santa Rosa before. That was kind of fun, especially seeing all the Peanuts characters placed about.

At the airport, Tony picked me up, and we drove over to the performance location, which was a golf course in Santa Rosa and a pretty nice place. We were quite early so we got some food from the restaurant, and just sat there and ate and chatted for a while until other people showed up. Then we went into the green room, which was very nice, and we all prepared for the show, which was “Funeral for a Gangster.”

The show turned out to be one of the best we have performed for that particular mystery. It was a private party that booked us and they were a fantastic crowd with some of their employees playing small bits. I think some of the actors remember it as the best show ever, but I know we've had some really good shows in the 20 years I've been in this, so I would say it was probably in the top seven. But still a very memorable and fun experience.

After the show, some friends pick me up and I went over to their house for some wine and conversation since they lived in the area. It was kind of a nice treat. I guess I probably could have stayed with them. I wish I had known they would have welcomed that idea, but I already booked a hotel room, so I had to then take Uber over to the hotel and stay there for the night.

The hotel was nice. I guess I should say it's a “motel” because it was mainly for cars, and I suppose I got there via a car. It was a big broom and definitely worth the money. I think I only paid $130 for it so that was a nice bargain. I settled in and went to sleep for the night.
