Originally, I thought I'd be heading down on the Friday of the show, but I also figured if the plane were delayed or canceled that would really be a big problem and this was our first show at a brand new gig. In fact, it was a new casino, which was a most welcome addition.
Since my friend Corey lived in the Sacramento area, I asked her if I could crash at her condo and she said yes, so lodging would be free if I flew down a night early. So that's what I chose to do. Plus, I wouldn't be missing any extra work, which was another bonus.
I got to Sacramento airport late. It was raining, and it was also the first time I had actually been inside the airport. Usually when there was a show around Sacramento I would just drive there, so this was fun I even got to see the huge rabbit in the center of the airport. It’s a pretty cool art piece.
My friend Corey wasn't able to pick me up, so I summoned an Uber, which took quite some time, but it finally arrived and I went to her condo. She had a guestroom, so I was able to crash in there and we chatted for a while, and then I went to bed.
