It's rather unusual to have a flight in the mid afternoon, but there were not many flights to London from Seattle, and this was the best time—or perhaps the only time. It actually is a good time because it just allows for a more relaxing morning. I was able to wake up at 9 AM and leave at 10 AM to get to the airport and enter the lounge around 11:30 AM. I took UBER over there of course; I couldn't park at the airport for that long.

Now British Airways does have its own lounge at SeaTac which I wasn't aware of the last time I flew on it or maybe it hadn't opened yet. I don't know, but I entered that lounge and they actually have a special section for first class passengers, which only has about a dozen seats because there just aren't that many flights for first class passengers on British Airways. The food was limited and it was a little too early for alcohol. Okay... I did get a glass of wine. One thing I did in the lounge was make an announcement that if anyone wanted to trade an aisle seat for a window seat. I would happily take the window seat, but no one took me up on that offer, I believe everyone in the room was on the same flight. It didn't hurt to ask. Yeah, silence.

After boarding the plane, I found my aisle seat, but I also noticed there was an open first class seat so I asked the flight attendant if I could switch and she said yes, so Hurrah! I got my window seat after all. It was the usual luxury experience: champagne before take off, and soon we were up in the air. I recorded a lot of clips for a YouTube video, and indulged in wine and fine appetizers and delicious entrées, and desserts and more wine and port--pretty much everything, but like normal I got full way too fast

A few hours into the flight, I did try to watch a little TV but there wasn't anything I really needed to see so I went to sleep on the seat-that-becomes-a-bed. (The flight attendant made it up for me when I was using the restroom.) Next thing I knew, we were having breakfast. I did get the breakfast items which were OK but not as good as the previous meal, and soon it was time for landing, so I had to put everything away and get ready for a long day of walking around London.

Immigration in London went extremely fast. I think those new face scanning machines are just awesome and of course it helps to be in first class because I was at the front of the line anyway. I was out at the train lines in no time.

But I guess it’s Tuesday now, so that’s another day.
