Spending memorial day in Seattle with friends would become a very routine thing. I parked at Oakland daily parking, and flew out from Oakland airport of course. We actually flew near San Francisco, and I got some shots of PacBell Park and downtown San Francisco, which I usually don't get to see on my flights. I guess the weather often prevents it.

Since I was seated in first class, I got a beer and free meal. It was a chicken sandwich with a piece of candy. Pretty small, but then again this was a very fast flight up to Seattle, so large meal is usually not included. Often, there is no food at all.

I took some photos of the sunset, and downtown Seattle from up in the air. I was using my Canon DSLR at the time as my iPhone was just the 4S, and not particularly great for photos.

I stayed in Bellevue for this trip and visited friends. Since the weather was nice, we were able to eat outdoors, have a fire pit going, and drink beer, and just enjoy very pleasant weekend.

The big event for this trip would be driving out to Hurricane Ridge to get some great views. This involved quite a trek to get there. We took the ferry across the water and headed up to the mountain range. It was a long drive and when we got there, we were rewarded by...clouds and fog. Yep. The view was probably 50 feet tops. The entire area was just in ensconced in clouds, so no great shots for me. It was still a good time, but this would become a routine thing: visiting epic spots and routinely be foiled by fog.

No matter. It was a wonderful weekend and went by all too fast. Sunday night, I flew back home once again.
