It was nice to sleep in. For the late morning and early afternoon, it was just chilling and hanging out the house. But around 2pm, we had to drive to the show. We checked for props and costumes and loaded the car, and headed out.

The venue was an hour away, so it was a long drive to get there. Plus, the rain was coming, so there was that to worry about. But the place was finally reached. It would be at a very nice gated golf club resort.

We were situated in a rather large green room (likely a board room) with plenty of space. For three actors, we would be doing a routine show that started in 2015. For the three actresses, it would be the first time with this script.

The performance area was fairly large with an estimated 100-150 coming. This would be tough as we didn’t have mics. But no matter. Another challenge was the performance area being primarily in the middle with tables heading out to two sides. Hearing would likely be challenging for those on the ends. After a rehearsal in the performance area, we adjourned to the green room.

Then it was about preparing costumes and lines and everything else. For me, it wasn’t too worrying. I’d done the role for years and my part wasn’t too large anyway. I just relaxed and waited to go on. Finally, it was showtime.

Overall, the show went great with a few small hiccups here and there. The audience engagement varied, which is fairly common for private events. Some like the concept. Others have different tastes. Afterwards, many photos were taken and everyone breathed a sigh of relief.

Then it was the long drive home. The rain had started to pick up at this point, so we drove cautiously home. No need to take any unnecessary risks. I requested another BK stop. I was just craving those Whopper Jr.’s once again.

Back at the house, most crashed early and I stayed up for a while getting some work done.
